Who we are

A target without a molecule is only an observation. A molecule without a target is only a compound.

Founded in Bengaluru in 2023 and incubated at C-CAMP, SilicoScientia is a research-led company developing high end technologies for drug discovery. OmicsXplore takes sequencing data to ranked, evidence-linked targets; SilicoXplore takes those targets to candidate molecules verified by physics-based methods. Both technologies are used by research groups and built on methods published in the peer-reviewed literature.

How we began

Our story.

SilicoScientia was founded in Bengaluru in 2023 to close a gap that slows almost every discovery programme. Biology identifies a target. Chemistry has to find a molecule. Between the two sit different tools, different file formats and different specialists, and results rarely travel back the other way. Work that should take weeks takes months, and much of it cannot be repeated.

We set out to build one environment that holds both halves of the problem. OmicsXplore carries sequencing data through to ranked, evidence-linked targets. SilicoXplore carries those targets through generative design, docking, molecular dynamics and free-energy calculation to a short list of candidate molecules. Both run in the browser, need no coding or installation, and record every parameter, engine version and log, so a result can be reproduced years later by someone who was not there.

We built the technologies for our own research first, and we still use them that way. Our first papers appeared in 2024. The paper introducing SilicoXplore followed in 2026, applying the full cascade to New Delhi metallo-β-lactamase-1, an enzyme that defeats nearly the entire β-lactam class and for which no inhibitor has yet reached the clinic.

Incubated at C-CAMP and working with collaborators in India and abroad, we now make the same technologies available to the research groups and companies running programmes of their own.

Mission and vision

Why we exist.

Our mission

To make the full arc of drug discovery, from a sequencing read to a candidate molecule, reproducible, explainable and usable by any research team, without writing a line of code.

Our vision

A discovery process in which every proposed molecule can be traced back to the biology that justified it, every number has a parameter trail behind it, and the limiting factor is the quality of the science rather than access to the software.

What we believe

Four principles,
in practice.

Research first

Our platforms come out of our own discovery programmes. We develop them, test them on real targets and real data, and publish the results before offering them to anyone else.

Two sciences under one roof

Computational biology and computational chemistry sit inside the same company and the same workflow. That is unusual, and it is the point.

Open engines, cited

Established computational engines are integrated under their own licences and cited on every result page. Where no existing tool met the requirement, we built our own.

We say what we cannot do

Computational results are hypotheses that require experimental validation. We tell partners where the evidence would be strong and where it would not, before a scope is agreed.

How we work

Ranked
and explained.

Machine learning searches biological and chemical spaces far too large to enumerate, and flags liabilities early. Physics based methods such as docking, molecular dynamics, free energy and quantum chemistry explain why a candidate should work, in terms a medicinal chemist and a reviewer can both follow. A result arrives ranked and explained.
