Workshops that build real computational skill.

Universities, colleges and companies commission workshops from us in computational biology, computational chemistry and AI in healthcare. Participants run the analyses themselves, on the same platforms we use in our own discovery programmes.

Why a workshop

Skills travel further
when people practise them.

Computational biology and computational chemistry now depend on artificial intelligence and machine learning as much as on physics. Most institutions know it, and few have the time or the trained people to teach it well. That gap is what our workshops are for.

We are a working discovery company, so the content comes from live practice, not from a textbook. Participants see how a sequence becomes a target, how a target becomes a docked molecule, and how a machine learning model is checked before anyone trusts it. They do the steps themselves, on real software, with an instructor beside them. Every programme is set to its audience, and we agree the level and the examples with you before we arrive.

Subject tracks

Three tracks, each
fitted to your audience.

Choose one, or combine them. Topics within a track are selected to match the level and the time available.

Track A

Computational chemistry with AI

For groups who work with molecules and want to move from textbook ideas to running a real screening workflow.

  • Protein and ligand preparation
  • Molecular docking and virtual screening
  • Pharmacophore models and QSAR with machine learning
  • ADMET and property prediction
  • Molecular dynamics and binding free energy
  • Generative design of new molecules
Track B

Computational biology with AI

For groups who work with sequences, genomes and expression data and want to analyse them end to end.

  • Sequence analysis and genome annotation
  • RNA-Seq and differential expression
  • Variant calling from WGS and WES
  • Single cell analysis
  • Protein structure prediction and target assessment
  • Machine learning on omics data
Track C

AI in healthcare

For clinicians, researchers and teams who need to understand where AI helps in health and where it needs care.

  • Machine learning on clinical and biomedical data
  • Genomics and precision medicine
  • Predictive models for diagnosis and prognosis
  • Large language models in healthcare and research
  • Validation, bias and explainability
  • Privacy, ethics and responsible use
Formats

From a single talk
to a full programme.

Half day or less
Seminar or invited talk

A focused lecture with discussion, suited to a department, a conference session or a leadership audience.

One day
Hands on workshop

A morning of concepts and an afternoon at the keyboard. Participants run an analysis themselves and leave with their own results.

Two to three days
Intensive programme

The full arc from preparation to interpretation, with supervised practice and time for participants to bring their own problem.

Faculty focused
Faculty development

Built for teachers who will pass the material on, with attention to curriculum, datasets and assessment.

Tailored
Corporate training

A programme set to your team, your data types and your level, run on site, online or in a mix of both.

How workshops are quoted. Workshops are quoted per programme, based on format, duration and group size. Academic rates apply to universities and colleges, and we can work to a fixed departmental budget. Tell us what it is.

  1. 1
    Tell us about your audience

Who is attending, what they already know, how many, and what you want them to be able to do afterwards.

  2. 2
    We scope and propose

A written agenda with level, duration, prerequisites, system needs and the instructors who will run it.

  3. 3
    Preparation

Datasets, exercises and access to the platforms are set up and tested before the first session.

  4. 4
    Delivery

Teaching and supervised practice, with instructors on the floor so every participant gets one to one help.

  5. 5
    Follow up

Certificates of participation, a resource pack, and feedback that goes into the next programme.

What participants take away

  • Skills they can use the next day, built on practice and not only on slides
  • Experience of working through a complete analysis on real software
  • A clear sense of what AI and physics based methods can and cannot do
  • A resource pack of notes, datasets and exercises to continue with
  • A certificate of participation from SilicoScientia

Levels. Introductory sessions assume no programming. Intermediate and advanced programmes assume some familiarity with the subject, and we confirm the level with you when we scope the agenda.

What each side provides

You provide

  • A room or hall, and a projector
  • Computers or laptops with a stable internet connection, and our team will advise on specifications
  • A named coordinator on your side
  • A list of participants and their backgrounds, ahead of time

We provide

  • Instructors from our computational chemistry and biology teams
  • Agenda, slides, datasets and exercises
  • Guided practice on SilicoXplore and OmicsXplore where the format allows
